| Abstract: | In this paper, we explore how the extratropical troposphere responds to a polar stratospheric temperature decrease, accompanied by strengthening polar vortex. For this purpose, use is made of a spectral general circulation model with zonally symmetric boundary conditions on surface and a heat source given analytically. |
