A parametric study of electron energy distribution functions and rate and transport coefficients in nonequilibrium helium plasmas

Abstract:Electron energy distribution functions in helium plasmas have been calculated by solving the Boltzmann equation at given values of reduced electric field, in the presence of superelastic and electron-electron collisions. Analytical expressions have been found connecting macroscopic coefficients to reduced electric field E/N, relative metastable concentration [He(23S)]/N, and degree of ionization ne/N.
