| Abstract: | An improved method for the synthesis of 5,6-benzotryptamine hydrochloride from 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid was developed; this method makes it possible to obtain the final product and a number of intermediates in high yields. The PMR spectra and the peculiarities of conjugation in the linear benzindole molecule are discussed.See [1] for communication 23.Translated from.
