The maximal correlation between a pair of σ-fields $\text{A}$ and $\text{B}$ becomes arbitrarily small as sup{|P(A ? B) ? P(A) P(B)|/P(A) P(B)]^1/2, A ∈ $\text{A}$, B ∈ $\text{B}$, P(A) > 0, P(B) > 0} becomes sufficiently small.
