Abstract:wo synthetic methods of polyvinyl alcohol with high absorbency for saltliquor were described: (1) Make partially phosphorylated polyvinyl alcohol crosslinking using Zr(IV) salt as crosslinking agents. (2) Make polyvinyl alcohol, free phosphoricacid and ZI(IV) salt forming crosslinking complex resin. The absorbency of synthesizedcomplex resin for 1% NaCl liquors is above 100 times by both (1) and (2). It is fairly stable in water, salt solutions, great major dilute solutions of acid, and non-aqueous solvents. A structure of this complex resin was proposed on the basis of chemical analysis, IR spectra and the theory of zirconium chedristry and making it compare with those of model reaction.
