| Abstract: | In this paper, by using the Nagy–Foias–Foguel theoryof decomposition of continuous semigroups of contractions, we prove that the system of linear elasticity is strongly stabilizable by a Dirichlet boundary feedback. We also give a concise proofof a theorem of Dafermos about the stability of thermoelasticity. |
