| Abstract: | The concepts leading to the application of synchrotron radiation to elastic and inelastic nuclear resonant scattering are discussed. The resulting new experimental techniques are compared to conventional Mössbauer spectroscopy. A survey of situations that favor experiments with synchrotron radiation is offered. |
