Abstract: | A fully relativistic one-step theory of photoemission has been applied to normal emission from Pt(1 1 1) induced by circularly polarized ultraviolet radiation. The calculated spin polarization and intensity spectra are in quantitative agreement with experimental data. Individual features are identified as bulk interband transitions and one-dimensional density of state involving initial states of specified symmetries. |
