TRITERPENE GLYCOSIDES FROM Tetrapanax papyriferum. III. MINOR MONODESMOSIDE GLYCOSIDES FROM STEM BARK

Abstract:Minor monodesmoside triterpene glycosides St-A, St-B, St-C1, St-D1, St-C2, and St-D2were isolated from stem bark ofTetrapanax papyriferumC. Koch (Araliaceae). The structures of oleanolic and echinocystic acid 3-O-agr-L-arabinopyranosides, oleanolic and echinocystic acid 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1rarr3)-O-agr-L-arabinopyranosides, and oleanolic and echinocystic acid 3-O-beta-D-galactopyranosyl-(1rarr2)-O-agr-L-arabinopyranosides, respectively, were proposed. Glycosides St-C2, St-D1, and St-D2are new triterpene glycosides. The structures of the isolated compounds were established using chemical methods and NMR spectroscopy.
