Synthesis of (+)-Multifidene

(+)-Multifidence ((+)- 1 ) has been synthesized starting from (R)-(cyclopent-2-enyl)methanol ((+)- 2 ) via its chloroformate 4 , Co-mediated radical cyclization reaction to the lactone (+)- 6 , and introduction of the olefinic side chains.
