| Abstract: | The molecular structures of SiH3N3 and (SiH3)2 NCN have been determined by electron diffraction : SiH3N3 has a non-linear SiN3 skeleton, and (SiH3)2 NCN is a carbodiimide with SiNCN Si probably linear. A new model is proposed which rationalises the observed geometry of a number of molecular pseudohalides. |
