Integral representations of solutions for two-dimensional viscous flow problems

Abstract:This paper concerns the steady flow of a viscous, incompressible fluid past a cylinderical obstacle. Solutions are represented in terms of simple layer potentials. Existence and uniqueness of solutions to the corresponding integral equations of the first kind are established. Emphasis is given on the asymptotic behaviors of the solutions as well as their connections to the singular perturbation results.
