The band structure and optical properties of the CdxHg1-xTe mixed crystals

The band structure of the Cd_xHg_1?xTe mixed crystals have been computed on the basis of tight-binding interpolation scheme and virtual crystal approximation. The bowing parameters of main energy gaps have been calculated as well as composition dependence of position of E₁ and E₁ + Δ₁ maxima in reflectivity spectra. Good agreement with previously reported experimental data has been found.
