Abstract: | The effect of initiation rate (dose-rate of -radiation) on the formation rate of hexafluoropropylene oxide has been studied. Experimental data confirm that the epoxide forms in the reaction R–O–C3F6·R·+C3F6O, as contrasted to the generally accepted fragmentation of -peroxyalkyl radicals R–O–O–C3F6·RO·+C3F6O.
