| Abstract: | The gas phase infrared- and far infrared spectra of the normal and totally deuterated molecules have been recorded and are briefly discussed. Rigid-rotor asymmetric top profiles for gauche and trans conformers were used to simulate the experimental gas phase infrared absorption profiles of four conformational doublets of CH3OP(O)Cl2. From this, a consistent assignment of the more intense component of each doublet to the gauche, and the less intense component to the trans conformer, is deduced. |
