Abstract:The behavior of liquid crystalline polyacrylates with chiral side chain mesogenic units were investigated in magnetic and electric fields by IR dichroism and eletro optical effects.The results indicated that the magnetic induced orientation takes place over the entire temperature range between T m and T i .The orientation level is influenced by temperature and molecular polarity of polymers.In an electrical field,the polymer P I shows electro optical effects known from low molecular weight liquid crystals.
