Electrochemical behaviour of zinc(II) and nickel(II) p-diethylaminodithiobenzoate complexes a new nickel(IV) species

Abstract:The electrochemical behaviour at a platinum electrode in methylene chloride of zinc(II) and nickel(II) p-diethylaminodithiobenzoate complexes has been studied. For the zinc(II) complex the electroactive site of oxidation is the ligand and the tetrathian dication is produced. In contrast, for the nickel(II) complex the electroactive site is the metal and a stable nickel(IV) species is obtained.
