Abstract:MnSm4(SiO4)3O,Mr=948.81,hexagonal,P63/m,a =9.444(2),c=6.829(2),V=527.23,Z=2,Dc=2.99 g.cm-3,λ(MoKa)=0.71073 A,μ=117.8 cm-1,F(000)=419,R=0. 048,Rω=0.055 for 982 observed unique reflections.The compound is isomorphous with natural apatite.The 6h lattice site is occupied by Sm atom with a distorted pentagonal bipyramid coordination geometry,and the 4f site by M(M =1/2Sm+ 1/2Mn) atom in a tricapped trigonal prismatic coordination configuration.
