Abstract:Summary  This paper presents the software architecture and middleware for a distributed smart camera (DSC) system that performs multi-target tracking. Middleware is used to abstract away important operations from the details of network operation. The paper describes the tracking algorithms and their middleware needs, the software architecture of the tracker, and the lessons learned for the next generation of tracker.
