Use of Spline-function for Smoothing Measured Values by Means of the Abel-inversion Method The application of so-called Spline-functions will reduce the noise-amplification, which results from the solution of an Abel-type equation in the presence of noise. In the discussed numerical procedure smoothing process and Abel-inversion — in this case of FRIE -type — are strongly separated. The procedure described below may be extended to systems of non-equidistant test-points.
