| Abstract: | The preparation of 1,3-dithiolanium salts from 1,2-ethanedithiol and carboxylic acid chlorides, the subsequent condensation of which with aromatic o-hydroxy aldehydes leads to spiropyrans of the dithiolane series, is described.
