Abstract: | This paper presents the whole process of analyzing moiré fringe patterns by using a computer-image-processing system. The main steps include: recording a fringe pattern, eliminating noise, thinning the fringes, assigning the fringes with fringe-order information, computing the strain field, outputing data tables, data curves, color two-dimensional computational displays and outputing in relief three-dimensional displays which represent strain and displacement. The method is highly automatic and gives visualized pictures and accurate results. |
