Abstract: | Mass Spectrometric Investigations of the Vapor Phase over CrCl3 and CrCl3/Cl2 The vapor in the system CrCl3/Cl2 is investigated by Knudsen-cell mass spectrometry in the temperature range between 770 and 910 K. The gaseous molecules CrCl3, g and CrCl4, g are identified mass spectrometrically; the molar heats of formation are determined by 2nd law calculations. CrCl3, g: ΔfH(298) = ?79.2 kcal; CrCl4,g: ΔfH(298) = ?103.2 kcal; the composition of the vapor in equilibrium with condensed CrCl3,s, CrCl2,s is calculated (Temperature 773–1273 K). |
