| 摘 要： | 本研究以口笔语语料库为依托,调查HAVE GOT TO在当代美国英语中的用法。结果显示:HAVE GOT TO主要用在口语语体中,其句法特征和MUST较为接近,其语义特征则介于MUST和HAVE TO之间。研究结果在一定程度上修正和补充了以往的研究,并对情态教学有一定启迪。

| Abstract: | Based on spoken and written corpora,the present study aims to investigate the usage of HAVE GOT TO in contemporary American English.The results show that HAVE GOT TO is mainly used in conversation.Syntactically,HAVE GOT TO is more similar to MUST,but semantically,it resembles both MUST and HAVE GOT TO.This study is an important complement for the previous studies and it has some pedagogic implications for the modal instruction. |
