| Abstract: | Two sequential nickel-catalyzed reactions allow the preparation of highly functionalized alkylidene cyclohexenols. Dehydration of the resulting cycloadducts allows the preparation of densely functionalized aromatic ring systems, whereas a simple sequence involving oxidation followed by carbonyl addition or enolization allows additional diversity incorporation. |
