| Abstract: | The role of substitution on the aromatic rings for the synthesis of 2:2 disubstituted biphenyls has been investigated. Atropisomerism involved in the above ring system has been studied using NMR spectroscopy. The outcome of inter and intramolecular Heck reaction is discussed. |
