| Abstract: | A method is developed to obtain the photoacoustic spectra of solids by immersing them in a liquid cell with a submersed tranducer and detecting the acoustic pulse generated due to bulk absorption of pulsed laser radiation in the solids. Proper choice of liquids enables spectra to be obtained which are independent of the optical properties of the solid surfaces of the surrounding liquid. This technique is compared to other established PAS methods. |
