Abstract: | The propagation characteristics of a metal-coated planar waveguide with chiral media filled in the cladding are presented. The effects of chirality on cutoff, dispersion characteristics and field distributions of the waveguide are studied. The results show that cladding chirality brings phase chopping to the transverse electric field component of those modes with odd mode numbers. |
