Abstract: | The effectiveness of baffles against flexural wave noise is discussed. A plane layer model is considered, consisting of an infinite elastic plate excited by a line force, a viscoelastic layer representing the baffle, and an outer plate which separates the baffle layer from the semi-infinite fluid medium. The effectiveness of the baffle is characterized by its insertion loss. |
