| Abstract: | An intramolecular Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reaction promoted by KF-Alumina involving a N-substituted phthalimide, cleanly and efficiently furnishes an interesting α,β-unsaturated tricyclic enone which may undergo selective alkylations at the α′-position. |
