| Abstract: | A novel two-step one pot synthesis of perfluoroalkyl iodides (α,ω-diiodoperfluoroalkanes) from perfluoroalkyl chlorides (α-chloro-ω-iodoperfluoroalkanes) has been developed by initial conversion to the corresponding sodium perfluoroalkanesulfinates with sodium dithionite and then subsequent oxidation by iodine. |
