| Abstract: | A general method has been developed for the synthesis of N-tert-butyloxycarbonyl N-carboxyanhydrides from beta-amino acids using Vilsmeier complex. These beta-UNCA are stable, and the reactivity with different nucleophiles (alcohol, amine, lithium enolate) was studied. |
