Abstract: | Based on the numerical and experimental studies, a nonlinear-spectronic character of similaritons formed in a single-mode optical fiber without gain is demonstrated. It is shown that the combined action of the Kerr-type nonlinearity and normal dispersion of the fiber leads to the formation of similaritons. The temporal envelop, spectral and phase profiles of such similaritons have a nearly parabolic shape in their central energy-carrying parts. |
