Abstract: | Alcohol fuel has been suggested as an alternative for car operation to reduce gasoline consumption[1]. However, being different from that of gasoline car, alcohol-fueled car exhaust principally contains unburned alcohol and formaldehyde/acetaldehyde[2]. These volatile C1/C2 organics may have an undesirable impact on air quality. Most of the existing catalysts for complete oxidation of alcohol are precious metal catalysts supported by γ-Al2O3[2,3]. |
