Ag/La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 Catalysts for Complete Oxidation of Alcohol Fueled Car Exhausts

Abstract:Alcohol fuel has been suggested as an alternative for car operation to reduce gasoline consumption1]. However, being different from that of gasoline car, alcohol-fueled car exhaust principally contains unburned alcohol and formaldehyde/acetaldehyde2]. These volatile C1/C2 organics may have an undesirable impact on air quality. Most of the existing catalysts for complete oxidation of alcohol are precious metal catalysts supported by γ-Al2O32,3].
