Abstract:The poly(siloxane-acrylate) microemulsions were synthesized using K 2S 2O 8 as initiator and copolymer nanoparticles were obtained. The effects of polymerization methods, the TS/SDS mass ratio and the content of siloxane on the polymerization and properties of the microemulsion were investigated. The best results were obtained by seeding semi-continuous emulsion polymerization, by which the poly(siloxane-acrylate) microemulsion with average particle size of 46.1 nm could be obtained with low surfactant concentration(2.5%) and relatively high copolymer content(30%).
