| Abstract: | By appropriate manipulation of FTIR spectra of binary mixtures of monomeric and dimeric formic acids, resolved spectra of the rapidly interconverting species can be recorded. Infrared spectra of the individual compounds were obtained over the range 3700-500 cm−1, from records of equilibrium mixtures of HCOOH/(HCOOH)2, and of DCOOH/(DCOOH)2. |
