Abstract:Amplitude modulation in submillimeter wave gyrotrons resulting from the modulation of the anode voltage of electron gun is studied in detail. Computer simulations for the nonlinear regime, where the modulation rate of the anode voltage is not proportional to the amplitude modulation, model the experimental results quite accurately.
