Proton structure functions in the quasielastic limit

Abstract:The evolution equation for the nonsinglet distribution of partons is solved in the leading order of perturbative QCD. It is shown that an exact analytic solution to the evolution equations can be found in the quasielastic limit. The Q 2 evolution of the structure function for x → 1 is in good agreement with experimental data.
