Abstract: | We consider the vibrations of an oblate ellipsoidal shell with a central rigid insertion rotating with a constant angular velocity about a vertical symmetry axis. The spin axis rotates uniformly. We construct partial differential equations describing the periodic elastic motion of the shell due to the translational, relative, and coriolis inertial forces. The displacement in the equatorial region of the shell is found as a function of the spin angular velocity for different values of the geometric parameters of the shell.Translated Teoreticheskaya i Prikladnaya Mekhanika, No. 20, pp. 81–84, 1989. |
