| Abstract: | An efficient synthesis of enantiomerically pure cis-3-substituted prolines is reported. Key steps involve the stereoselective organocuprate addition to the (E)-α,β-unsaturated ester 1, obtained from the Garner's aldehyde, and expedient oxidation–cyclization sequences. |
