Abstract: | The capacity of temperature modulated differential scanning calorimetry (TMDSC) technique to determine dynamical parameters is tested on several glass-formers of different fragility. We show that both the fragility index m and the stretching exponent β deduced from TMDSC are consistent with results from other spectroscopic analyses. In particular, we are interested in the coherency and complementarity with the dielectric measurements. When the dielectric analysis is prevented by conductivity effects or when the molecules are non-polar, TMDSC appears as a very powerful tool to study low frequency relaxation. |
