Radiation copolymerization of vinylene carbonate with isobutyl vinyl ether

The radiation-induced copolymerization of vinylene carbonate (M₁) with isobutyl vinyl ether (M₂) has been investigated over the temperature range of 40–80°C. The monomer reactivity ratios r₁ and r₂ were determined to be 0.118 and 0.148, respectively, and an activation energy of 7.6 kcal/mole (31.8 kJ/mole) was calculated for the copolymerization process.
