Synthesis of a 1,2,3-triazolo[1,5-a]-1,3,5-triazine. A new heterocyclic system

The synthesis of 3-methyl-7-oxo-5-thioxo-4H,6H-1,2,3-triazolo1,5-a]-1,3,5- triazine (a new bicyclic system) is described. The key step involves reaction of 4-amino-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazole with carbethoxyisothiocyanate followed by cyclization with alkali.
