| Abstract: | The reactions of hexafluoropropene oxide and equimolar amounts of Grignard reagents lead to the formation of 2-halotetrafluoropropanoyl fluorides which were converted to the methyl or ethyl ester for isolation purposes. Treatment of hexafluoropropene oxide with excess Grignard reagent formed an unsaturated ketone of the type R2CCFCOR (RCH3 or CH2CH3; a route by which this product is formed is postulated. |
