Analytical applications of mixed-ligand complexes: II. Determination of hydrogen peroxide in the presence of perioxide derivatives

The mixed ligand complex TiXOH₂O₂ was found suitable for the determination of small amounts of hydrogen peroxide in the presence of peroxy acids of sulfur. The pH optimum for the determination depends on the concentrations of the reagents titanium (IV) and xylenol orange]: for 2 × 10^?4M titanium (IV) and XO the optimum pH is 1.25. ?⁵²⁰ = 13,200 M^?1 cm^?1. The method is suitable for determination of 4–40 μM H₂O₂. Mention is made of the possible causes of the contradictions to be found in the literature concerning the ternary complex.
