Visual computation and simulation support system-VCS3

Convenient, integrated support platform is required for the development of a large scale scientific calculation and simulation software system for micro computers. This paper describes a visual computation and simulation support system running on Windows NT/9x operation system. The system possesses multiform methods for visual dynamic data display and online revision with visual data views that can be configured online and whole process support including model programming, compiling, linking, debugging, running and result analysis. With advanced real time network database techniques and client/server mechanisms, it supports multi user cooperative development and flexible multi flow simulation functions that make single machine multi models become the natural extension of the system. As an open system, it provides an application programming interface, which gives the users the ability for further development of the support platform. The system can not only be used as the software support platform for complex simulation systems, but also provide a general and visual running environment for various scientific calculation programs.
