| Abstract: | Symmetrical polymethoxyanthracenes are rapidly made and easily isolated in moderate yield by treatment of appropriately substituted (methoxy)n halobenzenes with lithium 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidide (LTMP) in refluxing THF. |
