| Abstract: | A novel rearrangement of 3, 4-dihydro-2, 2-dimethyl-2H, 5H-pyrano 2, 3-b] 1] benzopyran-5-ones (dihydropyranochromones) has been observed during the dehydrogenation with DDQ. The products obtained are found to be 2, 2-dimethyl-2H, 5H-pyrano 3, 2-c] 1] benzopyran-5-ones (pyranocoumarins). |
