| Abstract: | A mild procedure for the reductive deoxygenation of α-ferrocenyl aldehydes and ketones is reported using sodium borohydride and zinc chloride. The present method allows synthesis of alkylferrocenes containing functionalized tethers and is adaptable to large-scale preparations. |
